Views of Adolescents in High-School Period on Daydreaming
The purpose of this study is to explore the lived experienced of adolescents on daydreaming duringhigh school period. A total of 35 high-school students (16 male and 19 female) aged between 15 and18 participated in the study. A semi-structured interview form was used to collect data in the study.The form included questions about the reasons and types of daydreams they have, and their viewson and attitudes towards daydreaming. The interview records were transcribed verbatim andexposed to thematic analysis. The results revealed that participating adolescents daydream to feelhappy and relieved when they face problems, to motivate themselves when they feel desperate, andto plan their futures.
